Educational Qualifications and Eligibility
- Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- Consistently good academic record with knowledge of library computerization.
- Candidate must have cleared NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar UGC-accredited test like SLET/SET, or must hold a Ph.D. degree as per UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 and amendments.
Candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to 11 July 2009 shall be governed by the then existing rules and are exempted from NET/SLET/SET subject to fulfillment of prescribed conditions relating to Ph.D. award, evaluation, viva voce, publications, and conference presentations, duly certified by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs).
NET/SLET/SET is not required for Master’s programmes where such tests are not conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar bodies.
Shortlisting Criteria
Shortlisting will be done only if applications exceed 20 per post. A maximum of 20 candidates will be shortlisted for one post, with 5 additional candidates for each additional post.
Academic score parameters include:
- Graduation: Up to 15 marks
- B.Lib (One Year): Up to 10 marks
- M.Lib (One Year): Up to 15 marks
- MLIS (Two Years): Up to 25 marks
- Ph.D. / M.Phil / NET / SLET / SET: As per notified marks
- Research Publications: Up to 10 marks
- Library Automation Course (6 months): 03 marks
Interview will be conducted only if a minimum of three eligible candidates are available; otherwise, the post shall be re-advertised.
Grade Point Percentage Equivalence
For the seven-point grading scale, Grade “B” is equivalent to 55%, as per the officially notified conversion table.
