The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has released an official notification for the recruitment of Medical Officers (Allopathic) in the Health and Family Welfare Department. The recruitment is being conducted under Notification No. 20-PSC (DR-P) of 2025, dated 31 December 2025.

Eligible domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir possessing the required medical qualification can apply online from 05 January 2026. The last date for submission of applications is 04 February 2026.

🎓 Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

  • MBBS Degree or
  • A recognized Graduate Medical Qualification included in:
    • First Schedule, or
    • Second Schedule, or
    • Part-II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956
  • Candidates with qualifications under Part-II of the Third Schedule must fulfill conditions under Section 13(3) of the IMC Act, 1956.

⚠️ Important Service Conditions

  • Selected candidates cannot continue PG courses or tenure posts (SR/Registrar/Demonstrator).
  • A one-time option will be given to either accept the post or continue PG/tenure.
  • Mandatory posting in peripheral and far-flung areas of J&K is required.

🧷 Reservation Rules

  • Reservation will be provided as per J&K Reservation Rules, 2005
  • Category certificates must be valid on the cut-off date
  • False or fraudulent claims will lead to debarment and legal action

♿ Horizontal Reservation

  • 4% reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per Government Orders.
