JKBOSE Scholarship 2026 Application

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has invited offline applications for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) 2026 from eligible students of Jammu & Kashmir. The scholarship aims to support meritorious students from economically weaker sections and reduce dropout rates after middle school.

Under the NMMS scheme, selected students will receive a scholarship of ₹12,000 per year (₹1,000 per month) from Class 9th to Class 12th, for a maximum period of four years, subject to fulfillment of eligibility and continuation conditions.

NMMS JK 2026 Examination Details

JKBOSE will conduct the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination 2025-26 for students who:

  • Appeared in Class 8th Annual Examination (Oct–Nov 2025) in Kashmir Division / Winter Zone of Jammu Division, or
  • Are going to appear in Class 8th Annual Examination (March–April 2026) in Summer Zone of Jammu Division.

The State Level Selection Test consists of:

  • Mental Ability Test (MAT)
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

NMMS JK Eligibility Criteria 2026

To apply for NMMS JK Scholarship, students must meet the following conditions:

  • Educational Qualification: Minimum 55% marks in Class 7th
    Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST (ST1 & ST2) candidates.
  • School Type: Studying in Government / Government-aided / Local Body schools only.
  • Domicile: Must be a resident/domicile of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • Family Income: Annual family income not exceeding ₹3.50 lakh.

NMMS JK Scholarship Selection Criteria

  • Students must secure at least 40% marks in aggregate (MAT + SAT).
  • For SC/ST (ST1 & ST2) candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 32%.
  • Continuation of scholarship requires:
    • 55% marks in Class 8th
    • 60% marks in Class 10th (5% relaxation for SC/ST)
    • Promotion in first attempt from Class 9th to 10th and Class 11th to 12th.

NMMS JK Application Form 2026

Eligible students must download the NMMS application form from the official JKBOSE website and submit it offline.

The duly filled application form must be forwarded to the Chief Education Officer (Designated District Nodal Officer – NMMS) of the respective district.

Concerned DNOs/CEOs will:

  • Prepare the candidates’ database in the prescribed Excel format (available on JKBOSE website).
  • Submit the application forms along with documents and database to:
    • CDR Wing, New Campus, Bemina, Srinagar, or
    • Rehari Colony, Jammu-Tawi,
      within seven days after the closing date of the notification.
