University of Kashmir, NAAC Accredited with Grade “A++”, has officially notified the short-listing criteria and selection scheme for appointment to all subordinate positions up to Level-6. The notice applies to recruitment where applications are invited for non-gazette/subordinate posts in the University.
The detailed selection process depends on the number of eligible candidates for each post and is explained below.
📌 Short-Listing Criteria for University of Kashmir Recruitment
🔹 A. When Number of Eligible Candidates is More Than 20
1️⃣ OMR-Based Written Test
- The written examination will consist of 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Each correct answer carries 1 mark.
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Duration of test: 90 minutes.
2️⃣ Skill / Trade Test (Wherever Applicable)
- Candidates will be shortlisted for the Skill/Trade Test in the ratio of 1:5 per post, based on marks obtained in the OMR-based written test.
- The Skill/Trade Test will carry 20 marks.
📍 Important Notes:
- Where both OMR Written Test and Skill/Trade Test are conducted, selection shall be based on composite merit of both tests.
- Only those candidates who appear in both tests will be considered for appointment.
- If a post requires only an OMR-based Written Test, selection will be based solely on written test merit.
🔹 B. When Number of Eligible Candidates is Less Than or Equal to 20
- No OMR-based Written Test will be conducted for short-listing purposes.
- All eligible candidates will be allowed to appear in the OMR-based Written Test or Skill/Trade Test, as deemed appropriate by the University.
- Selection will be made purely on the merit obtained in the test conducted (OMR or Skill/Trade).
🔹 C. When Number of Eligible Candidates is Less Than 5
- If the number of eligible candidates is less than five (05), the concerned post shall be re-advertised by the University.
